ASK FOR AN INVITATION

Ask, and a person reads it.

This opens a row on a queue that a person works, not an account. Nothing is created, you cannot sign in anywhere afterwards, and you will hear back within a week either way.

Where the answer goes. A personal address is better than a work one, and we never write to an employer of yours about this.

The username on its own is enough, and the full profile URL works too. If your best work is in private repositories, say so in the sentence below: we have a way to count it.

What you have shipped and where. This is the line a person reads first, so it is worth more than a CV attachment would be.

Optional. A code is worth more than a name: it is the one that skips a step, because it proves somebody on the bench put their own record behind you.

We store your name, your address, your handle and that sentence, and nothing else. No date of birth, no age, no photograph. If we say no, the record of the no is kept so a second application can be read next to it.
